  • Get Gutters Cleaned!  This always a good idea!  You can hire someone to clean them out or do it yourself. PRO TIP: Go in with your neighbors to get a group discount from a local company!

  • Have your HVAC serviced!  It is good to get your system reviewed ahead of the summer weather. It avoids issues such as running out of coolant on one of the hottest days!  Also, most HVAC companies get extremely busy during the summer months. Having spring maintenance will only help and hopefully eliminate any surprises!

  • Trim plants and vegetation around your house.  Cutting back plants will allow for new growth and avoid things looking messy and overgrown. Plants and shrubs should also be cut back away from your foundation. This is a good thing to take care of especially if you have an upcoming home inspection.

  • Fence Maintenance is important.  When the weather warms up, it is the right time to make sure you are treating your wood fences.  You can find easy options at hardware stores to make sure they are treated and/or stained, if you prefer!

  • Clean your home’s siding.  The effects of winter can make your home look dull and dirty.  You can do this with a scrub brush and water hose or use a store bought detergent.  You can hire someone to pressure wash the exterior or rent a pressure washer to really get the tough spots!  This will leave your siding looking brand new!

  • Paint your front door!  Give your front door a fresh coat of paint or try a new on trend color!  This gives great curb appeal and is good for protecting against the elements!

  • Get a new welcoming door mat.  This small spruce up will make people feel welcomed and is an easy, budget friendly change!

  • Add grouped potted plants to your deck or porch!  This is a great way to add some color and highlight the space. PRO TIP: a variety of shapes and colors grouping them in odd numbers!

  • Washing exterior windows makes a big difference!  When you have clean windows your house automatically looks brighter, thus, larger!  This is a job you can hire someone to handle for you, or your local hardware store will have some options.  Most of the DIY options you can attach to your hose! Another inexpensive tip: put a little ammonia in a bucket and clean using a squeegee! Cleaning your screens can also help the windows appearance.  Pop out the screens and run a hose over them. This will make a noticeable difference!

  • Check foundation vents.  These vents may be blocked or have been damaged by winter conditions. Make sure you clear them of leaves and debris.  Replace the screens for any that have been damaged.
